Ways to matter
Ways to Matter is an auto-ethnographic documentary project comprising a series of video ethnographic case studies and written analysis and descriptions, that investigate how contemporary ideas of the good life are produced through taste, agriculture, rural life and consumer culture. Set in Sicily, across Europe and the United States, the films use natural wine as a lens through which broader questions of privilege, belonging, authenticity and the search for meaning unfold. Combining observational documentary with artistic research and auto-ethnographic reflections, the project allows contradictions to coexist rather than resolving them into a single argument.
