He studied Political Science in the United Kingdom and France before working in fashion publishing in Paris and London. He subsequently completed an MA in Documentary Filmmaking at the National Film School (UK), where he trained with Kim Longinotto in the tradition of cinéma vérité and observational filmmaking, and later graduated from the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig in the class of Candice Breitz.
Alongside his artistic practice, Fritz works as an ethnographic researcher and consultant, conducting qualitative research across Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
His recently established Institute of the Middle Classes serves as an artistic framework for ethnographic case studies that combine documentary film, installation, performance, observational fieldwork, autobiographical reflection, critical writing and social theory to investigate how taste, authenticity and everyday rituals shape contemporary societal power structures.
